Christianity gave the Russians great holidays such as Easter and Christmas. Old traditions are past down from generation to generation. The capital of Russia is Moscow. In Moscow the is a famous place called the Red Square. The Red Square is a famous tourist attraction. It is the most famous city square in Russia. The Red Square is a world heritage site.

Vladimir Putin is the current President of Russia. He has been President since 2012. He was the Prime Minister from 1999 to 2000.

LIFESTYLE

Russian are big on playing ice hockey, hand-ball, basketball, boxing, racing...
They are popular leaders in sport.
They also have some fabulous foods such as Borscht. Borscht is a famous  Russian family dish. Borscht is a very colourful dish. It contains water, beef stock, cabbage, potatoes, carrots, onions, leaf, tomato paste, garlic, parsley and sour cream. It takes a really long time to cook. Russians are really creative with cooking food.
